This project is located in the core area of Lin County, Lvliang City, Shanxi Province. Following the context of urban development and taking “A Park Downstairs, A Home Above the Park” as its core concept, it creates a mixed-use community integrating residential, commercial, park, and public parking functions. Within a limited land area, the project achieves efficient functional synergy and improved spatial quality, injecting new vitality into urban renewal in Lin County.
Situated in the urban core, the project benefits from a dense transportation network and abundant ecological resources, yet faces challenges of compact land use and complex vertical elevation changes. The design team adopted the strategy of “Working with the Terrain, Three-Dimensional Integration”, transforming complex topography into distinctive spatial features. Street-side commercial spaces are arranged in tiers according to terrain elevation, forming a layered urban interface. This not only eliminates spatial fragmentation caused by site height differences but also naturally connects commercial areas with urban streets and the community park through setback terraces and covered corridors, delivering an experience of “Borderless Commerce, Diverse Scenarios”.
In terms of traffic organization, the project follows the principle of “Pedestrian-Vehicle Separation, Clear Circulation” to establish an efficient and orderly transportation system. The main pedestrian entrance of the community is set on the east side, connecting to the riverside landscape belt, creating an elegant homecoming sequence: Riverside Stroll – Community Park – Entrance Lobby. The main park entrance is located on the south side, seamlessly linking with the urban slow-traffic system for convenient public recreation. Commercial spaces are arranged along the north, west, and south sides, forming a continuous urban commercial frontage and activating block vitality. Basement garage entrances and exits are reasonably distributed on the west and east sides, enabling rapid motor vehicle diversion and avoiding interference with the inner community and park areas.
